Welcome to my page gallery page. When covid hit, I had to find something to put my creativity and passion into since I was no longer riding horses. That is when Mel’s Craft Spot was created. I spent the majority of my lockdown time learning my craft and creating designs. When we returned to normal, I found myself still loving my crafting time, so I decided to open my small business and specialize in my passion for horses. I enjoy combining the love of horses with the ability to be creative and produce pretty things like Shadow boxes, Tumblers, Hats, Pillows and other items.

About Me

I have always been horse crazy. I started riding when I was about 8 and I spent most of my life riding horses with friends and at various barns across the my county. I grew up riding anything I could throw a leg over, Polo Ponies, Racehorses, Dressage horses, Jumpers, gaited horses and various others. After college graduation I followed my equine passion and traveled the United States as a show groom and traveling barn manager for a few “A” circuit Hunter Jumper Trainers. After returning to Rohnert Park, I got my insurance license selling equine insurance which I still currently do today. Working as an equine insurance agent introduced me to the sport of Reining which I loved and spent about 20 years riding and showing.
